On This Day In 1997 Paul McCartney Became "Sir"

It was on this day (March 11) in 1997 when Paul McCartney was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace for his “services to music” (above). The act allowed the former member of The Beatles to be forever known as "Sir" Paul McCartney.

It wouldn't end there for "Sir" Paul. On April 5, 2018, the Queen was it again. This time honoring McCartney with inclusion into an even more exclusive club, when he was made a Companion of Honour – a group containing only 65 people at any one time. See the footage below.
