On This Day In 1971 The Concert For Bangladesh

On August 1, 1971, The Concert for Bangladesh was held at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The event was organized by George Harrison to aid victims of famine and war in the Asian nation. It featured sets by Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Leon RussellEric Clapton, Billy Preston, and others. The triple album release of the concert went on to win the Grammy for Album of the Year.
