Foreigner Celebrating 50 Years With A Movie!

It’s 50 years for Foreigner, and how is the band celebrating? With a concert in New York!

Foreigner will perform at Ellis Island, in New York on September 6. The band will film themselves on a closed set for a documentary, due out next year.  The band will play their catalogue of massive hits with Lou Gramm and surprise guests. Only 250 fans will be there to witness the show live and appear in the finished film, as mobile devices will be sealed during filming and waivers will be required.

Lou Gramm will share the stage with Luis Maldonado, who replaced Kelly Hansen in the group, but is happy to return,

"Well, I know that since we were inducted into the Rock Hall Of Fame, there's been a lot reinterest in the band — the early band and the band as it currently is.” Gramm said. “And I know Mick is not in good health. I think if he was in good health, he would be out there with this band, and maybe I would be joining him. But he's not well enough to play, and I feel like I wanna help fly the flag for the band — the original band, and the current band right now, in these waning moments and moments when we're getting so much attention for what we've accomplished over the years. I wanna be out there as one of the original members to wave the flag."

Founder Mick Jones has been battling Parkinsons Disease and has not been performing with Foreigner as a result. No announcements have been made whether or not he will attend the show.
