LED ZEPPELIN: Shot Down

Led Zeppelin's application to trademark the brand name "The Led Zeppelin Experience" has been rejected by the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office. They stated that it's "confusingly similar to the registered mark ‘Led Zeppelin’. “Because the marks look and sound similar and create the same commercial impression, the marks are considered similar for likelihood of confusion purposes." They went onto explain that it made no difference by just by adding the word "experience." “‘Experience’ merely describes a feature of applicant’s services, as the term means events lived through or participated in." The application covered “entertainment services” such as “live performances, road shows, live stage events, theatrical performances, live music concerts and audience participation in such events,” as well as merchandise featuring the brand name. Led Zeppelin never explained what they planned to use the brand for, although there was talk that it could be for some type of traveling exhibit similar to what The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd did. The band now has three months to respond and revise the application.

In 2028, Jason Bonham was touring as Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience when the band asked him to no longer use Experience. "They have plans for the terminology, Led Zeppelin Experience. And I was like, 'Um, okay, but I need to keep the logo, JBLZE.' One, I have the tag on my car, and two, I have a huge backdrop that I paid for last year. For me it's about the music. So the name of it -- I just wanted to keep the logo. So I said, 'I got it. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening.' I don't know what they have planned, but I said, 'Okay, I will clear the way so they can do what they wish.'" In 2018, Zeppelin and Jason's mom Pat set up a UK business named Company 2018, which carries out “activities of exhibition and fair organizers.” They also owns trademarks for “The Led Zeppelin Experience” in the UK and Europe. They're due to expire in November 2027.

GNR, RHCP, PEARL JAM: Not Your Typical Holiday Party

Perhaps you're lucky enough where your company throws a nice holiday party for you and your co-workers. However, we're pretty sure it will not top the event held for employees of Eldridge Industries Thursday night. Billionaire Todd Boehly rented out the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York and got Smith and Watt's Steakhouse -- the combo of Chad Smith

from Red Hot Chili Peppers and producer Andrew Watt -- to put together a show. They in turn got Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses to round out their group they dubbed which Dirty Bats, who backed an all-star roster of singers.

First up was Yungblud, who did The Rolling Stones' "Start Me Up," Faces' "Stay With Me" and Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." Then Brandi Carlile came out to sing Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog," her own "The Story," and Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down." Chili Peppers singer

Anthony Kiedis' led the group through Motorhead's "Ace Of Spades," Iggy And The Stooges' "Search And Destroy," Black Flag's "Nervous Breakdown," Sly & The Family Stone's "If You Want Me To Stay," and the Allman Brothers Band's "Whipping Post."

Eddie Vedder then sang three Pearl Jam songs — "Corduroy," "Better Man," and "Wishlist" — plus covers of the Stones' "Waiting On A Friend," Dead Boys' "Sonic Reducer" and Elvis Costello's "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding." The last singer was Bruno Mars, who did Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love," the Police's "Roxanne," the Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Fire," Michael Jackson's "Dirty Diana" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." The night ended full-group singalongs of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode" and Neil Young's "Rockin' In The Free World."

LYNYRD SKYNYRD: Family Health Updates

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member of the 1977 plane crash that took the lives of three members of the band, has been having some health issues.

His daughter Pepper writes on Facebook, "Please say a little prayer for my dad. He is fine, but he did have cancer last year and got it removed. Shortly afterwards, he had a massive heart attack, [which] he survived just like everything else in his life. "But this past week he had to have another surgery. Hoping his last! My dad is a such a strong soul. He is in recovery. So many people have been asking about him, he sends his love!"

Pepper also wants to once again clear about something else regarding her dad, saying, "My father, Artimus Pyle, was charged in 1991 for false allegations. My mother lied about him touching his daughters inappropriately (my sister and I) when we were three and four years old. "There was zero evidence and zero proof of these allegations. Of course, because he was 'famous' it got blown out of proportion. "If anyone has met my father then you know, he did none of those things..."He is the most loving and kind human I have ever met. He cares deeply for people and would never hurt anyone! Loves animals, and treats the earth with respect.

"I will stand and defend him till I’m not longer here!" "For all those leaving comments without knowing the TRUTH, please educate yourself... Don’t believe everything you hear from those who don’t know the truth..."I believe my mother should be mentally evaluated..." Artemis, who is 77, left Skynyrd in 1991.

Also, please keep former 38 Special singer Donnie Van Zant in your prayers. The younger brother of the late Skynyrd singer Ronnie Van Zant and the older brother of current Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant has been undergoing treatment for cancer.

JIMI HENDRIX: Rhythm Section "Died in Relative Poverty"

The rhythm section of The Jimi Hendrix Experience "died in relative poverty" -- or at least that's what lawyers for their estates are arguing. The estates of bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell have been suing Sony Music Entertainment U.K. over the rights to the three Experience albums for close to two years. The trial finally got under way last week in England's High Court and Simon Malynicz, the lawyer for both estates, argued that the rhythm section was “excluded early on in their lifetimes” and “died in relative poverty” while Sony and other labels continue to profit from their work. Sony's lawyer Robert Howe countered, saying the original recording copyright belonged to the albums’ producers, not the musicians, adding that Mitchell and Redding made the same claims in the 1970s and Mitchell was paid $247,500 and Redding $100,000. Redding died in 2003 at 57, and Mitchell passed away in 2008 at 62.

Jimi Hendrix died in 1970 at 27.

Liam Gallagher Says Oasis Won't Be Touring In 2026

Liam Gallagher says Oasis won't be touring next year. The frontman shared the news in a post on X writing "we're not doing anything in 2026 mate," as a response to a fan who wrote "announce the 2026 dates mate." In response to another fan, he also said "nothing going on next year except the World Cup." Gallagher's posts come after Oasis' successful "Live 25" tour, which saw the Gallagher brothers reunite for shows around the world.

LENNY KRAVITZ: Tapped to Play Bond Villain...in Video Game

Lenny Kravitz has signed on to play a James Bond villain in a new video game featuring the iconic spy. 007: First Light will hit all gaming platforms on March 27th and Kravitz plays The Pirate King Bawma opposite Bond, played by Patrick Gibson. It's first James Bond video game not based on previous source material. Kravitz says, “The Bond franchise has such an incredible legacy in video games, so to step into it with a brand-new character like Bawma is amazing. He’s magnetic and unpredictable, there’s danger in him, but also heart and purpose. He’s not just a man with power; he is a man who has to fight for every inch of it. Bringing that energy into 007’s world felt incredible.” Check out a trailer for the game on YouTube.
