Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk welcomed their first child, Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, in September, and Riley's dad Tony Hawk recently took to his Instagram story to share an emotional message about what his grandson's other grandfather, Kurt Cobain, meant to him and how he wished the late Nirvana frontman could "hold our wondrous grandchild.”

“Went straight from S.U.A.S. [Shut Up and Skate] event at Houston Skatepark to this concert in 1991," the skate legend wrote next to a photo of a Nirvana concert ticket. "It was as transformative as live music can possibly be; we all experienced something rare and powerful that night. The world would never be the same.”

“I wish Kurt were here so he could see the incredible woman his daughter has become," he contined, "meet her devoted, caring husband, and hold our wondrous grandchild."

Tony also recently shared a photo of himself and Ronin (whose face is concealed by a baby emoji) sitting on a skateboard. “What happens when all of your kids can skate on their own and no longer rely on you to give them rides?" he captioned the photo. "You wait until they have their own kids. Circles (wheels?) of life.”

Frances and Riley began dating in 2021 and made it Instagram officially the following year. They got married nearly in 2023, and R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe officiated the wedding.
