Former First Lady Melania Trump reportedly declined First Lady Jill Biden's invitation to have tea at the White House due to the raid of her Mar-a-Lago home as part of the federal government's investigation into classified documents, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the New York Post on Monday (November 11).

“She ain’t going,” the source said. “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting."

President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled for a traditional post-election meeting with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday (November 13), at which point the first lady typically hosts her successor for tea. Melania Trump had previously visited the White House to meet with then-First Lady Michelle Obama as then-President-elect Trump met with then-President Barack Obama following the 2016 election.

Trump, however, failed to invite the Bidens to the White House following his loss in the 2020 election, breaking a transition tradition that spanned decades. The FBI raided Trump's Mar-a-Lago home as part of its investigation into his withholding of classified White House documents in August 2022, which reportedly included searching through the former first lady's wardrobe, as well as her teenage son Barron's rooms.

Melania said the raid "made me angry" and referred to it as an "invasion of privacy" during an appearance on FOX & Friends in September.

“I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wants to see,” Melania said via the New York Post. “And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff.”

Trump's confidential documents case was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, whom he nominated and appointed to the federal bench during his presidency, in July.
