No More Porn at Starbucks :(

Don't think that I'm in any way complaining about Starbucks putting wifi restrictions in their cafes to keep people from watching porn.  Frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't been there all along.  Seriously, what kind of person decides to take their laptop down to the coffee shop, buy a cup of coffee that costs as much of a bag of coffee that will make several home pots, and then just plop down to watch some porn?  I know for a fact there is no plot, and the story always ends the same, well, pretty much the same.  I'm also keenly aware of what this sort of "entertainment" does to a person, and a public place is not the proper setting in which to indulge.

Some argue that not allowing them to watch porn in public infringes upon their freedom of speech.  Oh how completely wrong you are.  Freedom of speech protects the actors from being thrown in jail for making pornography; be happy you live in a country where the supposed art is protected.  Where you choose to watch pornography is another matter entirely.  If watching it in a public setting is your thing, you really need to see a therapist.  This isn't appropriate behavior, it's deviant behavior.  I'm not saying you are a deviant for watching porn, I'm saying you are a deviant for watching it in public, while using someone else's free wifi; seriously, that's just gross.

So I'm thrilled that Starbucks has finally done what they should have been doing all along, because if they had we wouldn't be having this conversation as nobody would file a complaint for not being able to watch pornography in public on a service they don't pay for, but if they can get away with it, they will. Humans cannot be expected to make correct decisions.  There will always be that one smarmy guy who thinks its his right to watch porn at Starbucks and rub one out in the restroom.  Cut the porn, and your stall jerkers will decrease.  Thank you Starbucks.
