These Are The Best Days to Book Flights to Save Money

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Flying is expensive, that's why experts crunch the numbers to figure out the best days, the worst days and most expensive days to fly.

Sometimes you just have to go when you have to go, but if you have a choice and some flexibility, you can save a few bucks.

First, January and February are the cheapest months to fly. That's because the summertime volume isn't there and holiday travel is over, so there's a lull. Just don't expect good fare around Valentine's Day or any other holiday.

Going deeper into spring towards summer, avoid Fridays and Sundays. Those are popular days to fly and they tend to get a little more expensive. If you want to save a bit, fly on Saturday. If you are just about saving money and have total flexibility, then you should choose to fly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

It's not rocket science but when you're making reservations, they're not going to tell you this, nor will they tell you the cheapest time of day to fly. You just have to be an educated traveler to save the most money.
