Five-Year-Old Tells Teacher Powdered Heroin Makes Him Feel Like Spider-Man

A Massachusetts father is facing multiple charges after his five-year-old son showed up to his kindergarten class with a bag of powdered heroin. The young boy put the bag in his mouth and told his teacher that he gets powers like Spider-Man when he eats it. It is unclear if he actually ingested the drugs, or if he just put the sealed bag in his mouth.

The boy's teacher took the bag, which was stamped with pictures of Spider-Man, and alerted the school's principal, who contacted the police. The boy was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. He told authorities that he found the bag of drugs in the living room of his home.

Authorities arrested the boy's father, 29-year-old Benny Garcia after they searched his house and found hundreds of bags containing heroin and cocaine. He was charged with reckless endangerment of a child, along with multiple charges for drug distribution and possession. He is also facing a separate drug possession charge from 2018. He was ordered to be held without bond until a hearing on November 20.

The Department of Children and Families took custody of the boy and another child who was living at Garcia's home.
